Antibiotics fail completely: infectious disease is no longer checked by them, but vaccinations still work. Confined animal feeding operations are economically destroyed when most pigs, chickens, cattle, etc. come down with infectious diseases that can’t be cured. Large gatherings of human beings are similarly affected, and subway trains and airplanes are deserted as people fear to travel in anything but an individual car. Restaurant business drops dramatically too, and conventions are cancelled all over the world. Hospitals become deathtraps and half of all medical professionals die in the following year from contagions…
